I'll just reply here (if that's ok). Agmatine does help my depression (and it works quickly). But there are some drawbacks. Firstly, it causes major sleep fragmentation. From what I understand NMDA antagonists can do this. Also, a single dose tends to produce an effect lasting a day or two. Finally, the effect tends to feel more like a stimulant. It greatly increases my locomotor activity, but it isn't a very settled feeling.
I still use it periodically (perhaps once ever two weeks or so). It enhances the effect of weed (especially if I have any pains) and may reduce some of the tolerance. It can snap me out if I am really depressed, but I don't feel it lasts very long. All in all, I have not found it useful for depression maintenance. But, it is still useful nonetheless. I would encourage you to try it, if you haven't already.
