Well, I am trying/experimenting with a combo of Viibryd, low dose Effexor, and low dose desipramine.
I used to find a combo of low dose Effexor and an SRI to be very comfortable for my mental faculties. Before Viibryd, I was just using Effexor and Elavil (amitriptyline) with sub-standard results. And one day, I was waiting at a bus stop anxiously (regardless of 1 mg of clonazepam on board) and suddenly it became darkly cloudy, and I had a TERRIFYING feeling!! I thought I wouldn't make it home...and it felt like the world was going to end!! So...I figured, I needed to temper my serotonin system. (high serotonin actually increases fear, and social anxiety. SRI's regulate serotonin receptors...as you all know, anyways!..lol) So, I thought to take this new-ish drug Viibryd for a test-drive.
After a months use, no LEGENDARY effects for me. But, much lower startle response, plus a surprising slightly pro-social and a bit of a kick-in-the-butt effect that no NRI or NDRI EVER caused for me. I LOVE going out now, going shopping, buying some nice clothes (but no impulsive spending), and am starting to eye the ladies again! So...we will see how long this lasts. My overall motivation and hope for the future has greatly increased, but not in a manic way.
Viibryd is supposed to be unique because of it's 5ht1 agonism. Really, though, nothing that couldn't be done by simply adding Buspar.
But, I will dutifully report back in the coming weeks and months.
I would LOVE to hear others experiences or thoughts, comments!!
