Do I even need psychotherapy?

Why do I need this? It is christal clear to me that I am victim to a very mean person. I am showing all the signs of suffered abuse. The therapist cant stop the abuse. He wants me to stand up for myself, but the more I do it the more ruthless that mean person becomes.
