Samidorphan is a mu-opioid receptor (MOR) antagonist, so I don't think it can relieve depression on its own. However, there is a combination of samidorphan+buprenorphine that I'm sure can be helpful. The samidorphan is supposed to block the (partial) MOR agonism, to avoid opioid dependence, but allow the buprenorphine to function as a kappa-opioid antagonist.
