I forget where I read it, but Bipolar Disorder diagnostic criteria includes a presentation of chronic depression in the absence of a manic episode.
Have you ever been manic or hypomanic or suspect it?
Racing, but depressive thoughts? If so, you might qualify as Bipolar Disorder, mixed state. Do you have any of the DSM-5 specifiers for Bipolar Disorder?
