> For you people that are on parnate, do you get the feeling that there is something in the medication itself that has AD properties or is it only the MAO effect? I just worry since its half-life is so short compared to the other MAOIs
> I can tell there is an inherent AD effect in selegiline on top of the MAO effect I get from taking it till my MAO levels drop enough to exhibit symptoms like lowered BP. At 9mg it isnt enough for a full remission but im certainly better off than before. Doctor doesnt seem to want to do 12mg I may insist on a trial of it first though. Washout sucks.
>Tranylcypromine (Parnate) does have effects beyond MAO inhibition. It is an amphetamine-like stimulant.
You don't need a washout if you're going from one MAOI to another.
