>It would be bad for business in the longer run, yes. However, consider the possibility that an amateur chemist synthesises the drug, using reagents that are toxic, and he/she neglects to purify the product, either out of incompetence or a desire to avoid effort. However, I don't know if any fast-acting poisons are ever used as reagents.
