50mg Doxepin adding 12mg Trazodone

Posted by Steve Edin on April 10, 2020, at 5:09:19

Hi, Ive been on 50mg Doxepin for a number of months now. If I go higher it will be too stimulating. (Ive had a problem with sleep since developing CFIDS after a severe viral infection 30 years ago.) Also taking 100mg gabapentin twice a day. Both for mood, sleep and gut and nerve pain. Also taking 30mg Baclofen.
I was on Trazodone before for sleep before up to 100mg. It was great for sleep. Getting to sleep and staying asleep. (ive tried antipsychotics and numerous other psych meds. None have been as great as Trazodone). However, I find Traz is no good for mood nor pain relief. I read that Traz has no anticholergic effects. It caused me to have such a dry mouth(I couldn't take the gabapentin at night time because of this as the combination of both together increased the dryness). Trazodone casued the most severe constipation. I also have colitis so diarrhoea has been a decades long problem. On trazodone I was taking up to 8 movicol a day and using herbal laxatives and at times coffee to get moving everyday. Having had diarrhoa for so long walking about with all that laxatives in my gut was anxiety provoking. I had the most toxic f*rts even after going to the loo.
I'm wondering if anyone has tried doxepin and low dose trazodone for sleep. Do I have to watch out for anything? Thanks.
