Dopamine, yes, absolutely, and in the case of buprenorhine [BUP] (Temgesic, Suboxone), it enhances dopamine through two mechanisms: mu-agonism and kappa-antagonism. BUP is a unique drug, and it can not be compared directly to other opioids.

My impression is that it's stronger than BUP, dose dependently. BUP has a ceiling effect, and is a partial mu-agonist; hydrocodone does not have that property. If you compare per milligram, BUP seems extremely potent, but as I said, it is only a partial agonist.

That is to be expected. Most drugs don't have effects beyond a dose.

I'm not on BUP now, and I've never been on Suboxone. I used the Temgesic formulation.

It did help, and I only quit because they stopped prescribing it.
