In reply to I have a MTHFR varient gene. Deplin? Help Please, posted by PCB on September 1, 2019, at 20:28:38
Hi PCB,
1)I also discovered via 23andme and analysis of my raw data that I have an MTHFR variant (I don't have access right now to which variant it was, but I can track it down another time if you would like to know).
2)I tried Deplin and found that it worsened my depression, particularly in terms of despair/suicidal thoughts.
3)I plan to retry Deplin if I ever come off Nardil, but that isn't on the horizon as Nardil is the only drug/substance that has ever been a substantial help to me other than DHEA, which worked wonders before it pooped out after a year.
4)Sorry if this is old-hat, but did/do you supplement with B6 while on Nardil? I certainly appreciate the difference when I am lax about supplementation, but I have other issues w/food that (I hope, at least) make that more necessary for me than most.Best wishes.
Background: 35+ years of MDD and GAD; currently on Nardil (90 mg).
