i think for adults its normal. once upon a time, I think 40mgs was the recommended max dose for add/adhd. i dont think any amphetamines have approved use in depression except for Desoxyn (Rx methamphetamine), so I don't know the dosing guidelines for that...
anyway, keep in mind that the pills and capsules go up to 30mgs. the highest dose I've ever seen in someone I was acquainted with was I think 90 (?), and that was after a failure with high dose ritalin.
ok. keep in mind, of course, that there is a risk of psychosis, mania, agitation, etc. much more common with abuse and high doses, but...its been reported with ongoing, standard dose treatment. i think its rare (?), but...just a little warning, to be on the safe side.
