After being on prozac that long, I would probably not rock the boat. Your body is so accustomed the prozac molecule it will probably freak out not having it. Even just lowering your dose can be like opening a can of worms or banging away at a hornet's nest.
Personally I would keep the prozac where it is and add whatever other new thing to it, including Effexor if that is what you want to try. I think if you upset the apple cart named prozac, you may never get back to where you are now. Seen it happen too many times.
Ritalin is a great choice. Sometimes Zypexa is. Both go very well with prozac. From my own personal experience with 8 years of prozac, I would also add that Adrafinil, Modafinil, and Savella are good add-ons that can make a real difference.
