It looks like trials for mushrooms to treat depression start pretty soon.
With medical marijuana I think patients already have an excellent option for psychiatric purposes - depending on where they live - but the more options different than reuptake inhibitors the better. imo
Until then, drug-wise, I favor prozac, zyprexa, Ritalin, and we hardly ever hear of them, but either Modafinil or Adrafinil.
Herbwise I like Rhodiola Rosea, Lemon Balm, tiny doses of SJW, and all of the Adaptogens.
Holistic-wise I like gluten free, non-genetically modified, organic, anti-parasitic, anti-bacterial, anti-fungal, anti-viral, anti-toxicity, anti-inflammation, pro-immune, pro-brain, pro-heart.
I think minuscule doses of mushrooms could work well for depression so it will be interesting to see how that all turns out. I think these trials start in about a month.
