no, not an antipsychiatry post. im genuinely, truly just thinking it out, that's all.
there seems to be a whole lot of people who aren't deriving much benefit from ever changing pills. and then it seems that many of the 'severely mentally ill' are just pumped full out long acting Haldol or risperidone, often against their will. i see it at the clinic i go to.personally...i don't know. abilify at my dose is not exactly fun times, but its not quite punishment, either. i dont know if it helps a whole lot, or if my so-called "spiritual awakening," maturation, family reconciliation, and just...changing, as a human being, has been more truly "therapeutic." of course..."severe mental illness" is my primary identity in this community, to a certain extent in the family, too. not to make it sound tragic. it just...is what it is, that's all.
so...i don't know. if i wasn't labeled with this that and the other thing, i'd be back on society's discard pile. "loser" in late stage, American-style capitalism. good luck with that. with the labels, with my "genteel" parents, with "the help you need," etc., I'm...
somewhat tolerated, usually. McDonald's burned my McGriddle today, and I thought maybe it was deliberate. on the other hand, the iced coffee had extra syrup in it and tasted more delicious than usual.
