Oh very good, that's the right way to take it. Calcium rich foods slightly decrease absorption, but not much. As a result, it is not usually taken with milk, but other foods instead.
Hopefully, you won't have any side effects. I don't personally have side effects from doxycycline when taken with a meal and water. On an empty stomach, it makes me feel like I'm going to be sick.
Doxycycline can make you sunburn easily. If you go out in the sun, it's important to cover up well and use sun cream, or else you may get an itchy sore burn.
Apart from nausea and increased tendency to sunburn, doxycycline is usually very safe.
