I wonder to what degree the neurotrophic effect is linked to the psychedelic effect.

For example, LSD activates many serotonin receptors like 5-ht1a and dopamine receptors like d2. 5-ht1a agonists, like buspirone are neurotrophic, but buspirone is not psychedelic.
