you either get empty capsules and a scale that is sensitive to milligrams and crush the pills OR you crush them and make a liquid from the drug. So she would take a 5mg pill and 4mg in a liquid or capsules.

10mg - 10mg x 0,1 = 9mg
9mg - 9mg x 0,1 = 8,1mg
8.1mg - 8.1 x 0,1 = 7,2mg

You get the deal. Then once you are very low and reductions no longer produce symptoms, you can try to stop completely.
