I know absolutely nothing about supplements. I've decided to start trying them for anxiety.
My anxiety isn't the agitated kind, it's weird, it's like a catatonic dear-in-headlights type where I freeze up and start crawling into myself without getting any palpitations. In fact once it culminates into a palpitative state I feel better (BTW any idea what the hell could cause this form of anxiety? Maybe Luvox isn't the best drug for this?)
I'm on Luvox (100mg/day) for anxiety and want to augment it with 5-HTP to see if it will make me feel better. But I've read a 5-HTP/SSRI combo can cause serotonin syndrome. So my question is, is there like a powdered form of this supplement so I can experiment with slow titration safely to see if there's benefits?
Or is this combo metabolized in some crazy way where effect/dosage relationship is not linear and can have exponential impacts? Has anyone experimented with this augmentation?
Cheers.
