I would personally not combine melatonin with luvox since luvox inhibits CYP1A2 which can significantly reduce melatonin metabolism. Also, I have found that SSRIs + melatonin just don't mix too well (reduce SSRI effectiveness and just feel yucky)
You might consider low dose mirtazapine, or (if you're in Canada) cyproheptadine. Both are antihistamines and 5-ht2a blockers which can enhance sleep and reduce anticipatory anxiety. I have used both these meds with luvox. Another option might be low dose amitriptyline or trimipramine. If you do add another antidepressant, you may need (or decide to) to reduce the dose of luvox.
If the insomnia is periodic, you could try a benzodiazepine such as lorazepam.
Reducing the dose of luvox (75mg?) may help too as SSRIs can sometimes disrupt sleep on their own.
As for alternatives, magnesium may help. Start with 50 - 100 mg.
