Saphris is an interesting drug. I have seen it work well for the depressive and cognitive symptoms of schizoaffective disorder, bipolar type.

Haven't taken any antidepressants for about 5 months and actually felt better for few months. Then started to feel slightly hypo..more anxious than usual. But last week I've had mixed emotions...lots of crying for no reason, hopeless feelings etc. Normally my moods aren't unstable cause mostly it's been depression. Just so disappointed cause I was hoping maybe depression wouldn't come back or maybe it's been there all along and I was a bit hypo so I was in denial. If it's Dysthymia and not major depression that I have....are there meds that seem to work better for Dysthymia than others. Sorry, I know I sound bit scattered right now.

Hi...less than a year ago I was going through major depressive episode, switched meds which didn't work much and I said I wanted to try without meds so I did. Then because I didn't get more depressed without meds, actually felt better, my dr said this suggested bipolar2 which we had talked about previously. So now, 5 months without meds I've been a bit depressed and because of family history my dr said maybe dysthymia as I don't remember a time when I wasn't depressed to some degree. Bad childhood, abuse, etc. So my feeling is I think I'm a bit unstable. Mostly kind of depressed but once in awhile a bit hypo.
