Hi.

> It definitely got me out of a depression to the point where I felt normal. I remember when I started it I got to a low dose of 20mg and was satisfied enough to not go higher which was unusual for me. I stopped taking it for a few months early in 2015 when I though my insurance was going to stop covering it (per a letter). I eventually went back on it due to depression returning and getting it approved and now I'm using 50mg (60mg is max). It definitely helps.

You may be better off trying something else w/ a shorter half life first. You're supposed to do a washout when switching from SSRI to MAOI of 14days but that might be longer w/ a med like Prozac that stays around for so long.

Prozac -> MAOI = 5 weeks.

Your idea is extremely logical. I would not have thought of it.

Have you lost any efficacy with your return to Marplan?

At what point did you lose your response to Prozac?

I had a partial response to Effexor 300 mg/day that was enhanced by the addition of nortriptyline 75 mg/day (which was later found to be too low a dosage for me). For me, I would consider going back to Effexor 375 mg/day + nortriptyline 100 mg/day if my current regime built around Parnate should not bring me to at least 75% remission.

I tried Marplan for only 2 weeks for lack of patience. I don't think it made me feel any worse. It was much more tolerable than Nardil.
