It would be difficult for me to draw any comparisons between what you are feeling now with what I felt during week 1. If dysphoria were to emerge, I would then seriously consider aborting the trial. Otherwise, what you feel might be startup side effects that soon will disappear.
I am going to ask my doctor about using Reluxti (brexpiprazole) to treat me. Although it is a sister drug to Abilify, it is skewed more towards binding to D2 than D3 receptors compared to Abilify. Who knows? Reluxti might work well despite what we think about the role of D3 receptors in depression. It may be that the target should be D2 receptors in the striatum and prefrontal cortex rather than D3 receptors in the shell of the nucleus accumbens.
