In reply to Zyprexa prn- Anyone ?, posted by J Kelly on March 13, 2016, at 19:59:01
At one point in time it was being over prescribed because it works so well with anxiety, i do think rx for zyprexa for anxiety alone is overkill (unless its the only thing that works for you). but thats just my thoughts.
how much are you on?
people can respond to as little as 2.5. once it is regular and in your system it should help on a daily basis as its half life is fairly long (i think around 2 days maybe).with that said. i think that some 'attacks' need more of a fast acting/short half life thing. so while i think zyprexa is great for everyday anxity and it has worked well for me, i still need something else to take if an 'attack' kicks up.
the negative with using zyprexa is weight gain. for me when i dont have the issues of eating until i go to 10mg (which of course is normally what i need) or higher then eating occurs.

part 2
i often take zyprexa prn, but for differnt reason. when i become acute mixed episode i have gone on it for 2weeks to month or so. then stop. it has worked well for that in the past.HTH
b2> I notice that when I take my eve dose of Zyprexa a lot of my anxiety disappears. Ive always taken it at night as instructed by pdoc.
