Why no 5ht1a Full Agonists?

Posted by Hello321 on March 13, 2016, at 14:05:32

There are many different kinds of psychiatric meds that work as 5ht1a partial agonists, but no full agonists that I'm aware of, other than the new female libido med Addyi. And if I remember right, Addyi originally started out in being tested in Clinical Trials for Anxiety when its improvement in libido effect was realized. Maybe they figured since there's very little competition in the femaleibido enhancement market, they could have higher profits compared to what they'd get from it being approved and marketed in the crowded psychiatric med market.

But anyway, I think a full 5ht1a agonist seems like a logical possibility that could help mood problems, possibly better than Buspar or Viibryd. At least for some people.
