Porkpiehat,
Have you told your pdoc about how strong your feelings of rage have been for the last two days? If it's the case that you did tell your pdoc about how intense your feelings of rage have been and about the extent to which these feelings have been affecting your behavior, and your pdoc still advised you "not to fiddle with meds," then I'd advise you to seek another professional opinion. Regardless as to what's causing your feelings of rage, it sounds to me like these feelings are intense enough that some sort of intervention would be a good idea.
I hope that you'll find yourself feeling more at peace soon. I know from experience that having intense feelings of rage and/or irritability can be beyond unpleasant, but such feelings for me usually only last for so long, which leaves me wondering in the aftermath, at least in some ways, what it was that got into me (even though I know that in my case, it's oftentimes noradrenergic antidepressants that "got into me" and played a major role in producing my feelings of irritability). But given that I know how unpleasant very intense feelings of rage and/or irritability can be, I very much hope that you'll find these feelings subsiding for you very soon.
Take care,
