I have found that the SNRIs, Effexor and Cymbalta, produce fewer side effects than SSRIs. I did not experience startup anxiety and found that they did not affect me sexually. I also experienced no apathy or problems with motivation as I have with SSRIs. Effexor, in particular, is also good for GAD anxiety disorder.
There is a drug called Viibryd (vilazodone). It helps with serotonin in several different ways that are different from SSRIs. I found it to be very clean - it had no side effects at all for me. Viibryd is known for not producing sexual side effects.
