I posted a few weeks ago about eliminating any "added sugar" from my Diet. Well, though my Diet has definitely gotten much healthier than it was a month ago, I've not quite met my goal just yet. But I've been reading more into how our diet affects our health, and have gotten interested in the Ketogenic Diet. And basically it is a high fat, moderate protein and very low carbohydrate diet. The idea behind it is to cause your body and brain to start feeding off ketones from fat metabolism instead of glucose from carbohydrate metabolite (if I understand it correctly). Having ones body run off fat instead of carbohydrates is supposed to lead to more efficient functioning of your body and brain in many ways. But it is also said that staying on a ketogenic diet too long can end up being bad for you, I believe by making your blood too acidic. One condition that a telegenic diet is recognized as a legit medical treatment is Epilepsy.
Anyway, I think a ketogenic diet would be easier for me to stick to than completely avoiding sugar/refined grains. I'm slowly working over to my new diet over time.
I must say I did experience something the other night that I believe to be related to my healthier diet. It might sound funny, but I was playing NBA 2K15 on my Xbox One and I'm not sure how to describe it exactly, but I noticed the movements of the players on the screen seemed smoother and more detailed. Instead of seeing what seemed like the repetitive motions I usually see, I just noticed more detail in the way they moved. It was really cool. But this only lasted maybe 15 minutes and it was too obvious to have been like a placebo effect. I hope to achieve this more often through a better diet.
