Seroquel is basically one of the world's most potent antihistamines, and that's about it. All of its other mechanisms pale in comparison to its antihistamine potency. The other actions barely even count actually, in comparison.

When someone says the word antihistamine, these three words pop into my head:
Remeron
Seroquel
NyQuil

Contrary to the medical establishment, I do not consider Remeron an antidepressant and I do not consider Seroquel an antipsychotic. They are the world's most potent antihistamines.

But some people with schzo spectrum symptoms have found improvement with those drugs. So it would be accurate to say that antihistamines can treat schizophrenia.
