I read about this a few days ago.
One major caveat in interpreting the results of this study is that it only included stimulating the ventral capsule and striatum. The original series of studies reporting success implanted the electrodes in either the subgenual cingulate / Brodman's area 25 (Mayberg) or the nucleus accumbens.
