I took Brintellix for 8 months in 2014. It worked, but I would describe its potency as "weak" for my chronic anxiety and depression. No miracle for me, just, like, a 10-20% reduction (or something minimal like that) in symptoms. Totally noticed the sexual side effects--decreased desire, difficulty reaching orgasm--right away. But they were nothing extreme, nothing worse than any of the other SSRIs I have taken. I didn't really have any other side effects. I'd say it's totally worth a try, if you can get samples or afford the ridiculous prescription cost (mine was hundreds of dollars a month, so I just got samples from my psychiatrist the whole 8 months). I also took what I think was considered a higher dose--30mg/month. Took 40mg for a month or so and didn't notice much difference, so settled on 30mg.
