yeah...I never thought of that, but...yeah. Insightful.
I think also American culture is so hyper-individualistic. Its not cool to question the cutlure. Its "winners" or "losers," that's about it...
...plus social class issues. Upper middle class and higher, you get to talk about your problems. Below that...good luck!
Like, in my situation...I'm "in recovery" because my newly affluent (somewhere between upper middle and the lower rung of the upper class) people take care of me. So people have to be nicer, give me more space, etc. Weird, huh? Back when I was younger and they were "rinky dink middle class" (that'd be an ex-counselor's words, not mine), nobody cared. Drug him up, shut him up. And boy did they!
Its crazy. I get the sense that other countries recognize that crazy...happens, you know? Blame family dynamics, social class, whatevah...it happens.
End of rant, lol.
