all the barbiturates today are pretty much gone, only ones left are the pain pill which is mixed with that and other and mixed with caffeine
but i've taken phenobarb for a vary short time during withdrawl of benzos but the effect was not pronounced euphoria, it's mainly sedation and it does cause depression, but it's effects are still useful in the modern medicine, because if the doctors get rid of barbiturates, only one that usally prescribed much is seconal for bad insomnia.....but pheno could be kept around in modern medicine.....it's anti anxiety effects are good, but it causes sedation and less excitability, and too high doses loss of coordination but it's less toxic than other barbs.....but i'm sure around the 102 years it's been around many side effects of it where recorded, i havent read them, im not a medical database lol, but i just think it should be kept in use in modern medicine even though how old it is.....daytime sedation it is vary good for.....and taking the shakes off....only thing it does make depressed sometimes, but that's a good indication it won't have a abuse rating as much as pentobarb and amobarb.....and dangerous too......
good for taking the benzo's withdrawl symptoms away.....keep it in use....it still a good medication
not a scholar but understand distress.....
