I took 15 mg Deplin and felt the effects within a few hours. After I realized that it was the culprit of my irritability I decreased to 7.5 mg, which really did very little in terms of energy but still made me grumpy.
There's a theory that Lamictal depletes folic acid -- some studies say it does, some it doesn't -- but since Deplin is folic acid, it can't hurt to add some. And folic acid itself can be an antidepressant. Deplin is a super folate -- you'd have to take tons of the drugstore folic acid to match it, and I think Deplin crosses the blood-brain barrier easier.
