But who is counting, right? Three to six drinks(maybe 7 sometimes?) a night your whole life? It has nothing to do with what others drink. It's what you drink but more so, why you drink. If you are on the meds you have listed and drinking that much you are doing yourself no favors. If you can't live without alcohol you might want to treat that before you spiral down further. Social drinkers don't count drinks. Problem drinkers and alcoholics count drinks. I've been around alcoholics my whole life and what you said is very, very familiar to me. To be honest, you drink too much and you will not get well washing AP's down with alcohol. You have to chose.
People can drink one glass of wine at dinner and be an alcoholic. It isn't how much, it's do you wish it was dinner time all day? Not because you're hungry but because you can't wait for than glass of wine. It's tricky and you are rationalizing your drinking. Talk to a therapist or better yet, go to one AA meeting, I think you will be surprised. You may think I'm your worst enemy but, in fact, I'm your best buddy right now.
