When my doc wanted me to switch from Depakote Sprinkles (due to insomnia) to Depakote ER the gal at the pharmacy asked me which generic manufacturer I wanted. I told her I didn't know, been years since I took it. She said most patients prefer certain manufacturers.
Why would the Depakote Sprinkles NOT make me sick and the Depakote ER makes me sick to my stomach?
Honestly, I don't know how people gain weight on the Depakote ER because I couldn't eat anything but rice & oatmeal.
Am I missing something here?
Also, wouldn't it be better to take Seroquel for sleep with Depakote? Years ago (after being awake for 3 days on Depakote ER), my doc quickly added Abilify which helped me sleep, but did make me fat.
Would pushing to 1,000ER really help me sleep? Because so far Depakote has pushed me back into insomnia.
Can anyone explain the differences between the two versions of Depakote? Are there better generics that might not make me sick?
