Some of the research suggests an abundance of dopaminergic neurotransmission relative to serotonergic neurotransmission in OCD.
Dopamine antagonists can augment SSRis for certain cases of OCD.
That being said, agents which block serotonin receptors (namely 5-ht2a/c) can sometimes worsen OCD.
On a theoretical bases, a typical antipsychotic might be a better augment of SSRIs for OCD.
Abilify can be activating for some individuals. This might increase OCD indirectly.
