I am considering trying Bromocriptine and/or Almotriptan for my migraines, poor cognition, anergic/melancholic depression. I want something that increases Cerebral blood flow as such medications seem to work better for me than most.I have low cortisol/low adrenals and these migraine meds seem to work a bit on adrenal receptors as well.
Does anyone else have any recommendations?? I am so sick off all this SSRI SNRI garbage. Most of it doesn't work for me. Paxil and Parnate worked a bit and ironically they have some effects on adrenals while most other anti-depressants have very negligible effects.
Please please offer me some ideas! I see my doctor today and I am looking to try the above and possibly others.
The vasoconstriction and vasodilation link to my depression and cognitive problems is very real. I am most able to think when I am taking a shower and that blood is flowing only to crash when I get out of the shower and everything just SLOWSS down so much. I also felt best when I was hooked up to an IV.
Niacin with it's flush effect makes me initially feel bit lousy as the flush heats up the whole body and I itch everywhere but quickly my mind becomes more active. More able to think. It enables me to write this message board posting! And an hour later it usually leaves me feeling better from the increased blood circulation.
What meds for blood circulation might help?? I am pretty new to these classes of meds but I am tired of suffering for over a decade.
