I am not so much interested in the "why" as I am in the existing evidence that lithium carbonate demonstrates efficacy. I cannot demonstrate that lithium orotate is ineffective through scientific investigation, mainly because such investigations do not exist.
For what it's worth:
100 mg of lithium orotate = 3.83 mg of elemental lithium
100 mg of lithium carbonate = 18.8 mg of elemental lithiumIf my math is right, then 100 mg of lithium carbonate = 490 mg of lithium orotate.
If you are convinced that lithium orotate is as effective as lithium carbonate, it might make sense for you to increase the amount of lithium orotate you are taking.
