doctor/s - zyprexa for sleep

Posted by rjlockhart37 on August 17, 2014, at 22:22:05

i've just wanted to write this, but mainly the sleeping medications of the past, seconal, dalmane halcion, all over the years they've changed, but what i've noticed about olanzipine is it induces sleep potent, i noticed this when i went to JPS psych hospital, they gave me 20mg of the under the tongue pill.....and first thing i noticed, i wasnt manic and feeling like my thoughts where on fire....it calmed it down extremly, it was like i was suddenly back in a calm state, and then within 40min i went to sleep in a chair......and then again later at another psych, i was prescribed olanzipine at 30mg, 10mg at night, 10mg in morning, 10mg in afternoon and it caused me to be so sleepy, yet i was calm and not agitated, but it causes some forms of thoughts to slow down, and you really can't get fast thinking on it, unless the body has taken it so long that it adapts....which is starting for me, i take 20mg now and my brain has adapted to where it can think normally, yet i can't think vary fast.....and if i don't take zpyrexa fast and agitated thoughbts return.....you have to lower it in small doses, i took 30mg's and completely stopped it because i was at home eating dinner and it caused me to jerk, i had a fork in my mouth, and i took it out as fast as possible....completly stopped it after that night, and agitation and racing thoughts returned increasingly......i was put on geodon at 160mg after that.....

so....i have to say, keep zyprexa in use, it is a VARY good med for emergency treatment for manic episodes....it work quickly and slows down crazy thoughts and can induce sleep at around 15-20mg....only thing is your sleepy the next day in until it wears off....but it is a good med for agitated people with race thoughts.....

i don't know if it would fall under a hypnotic class for inducing sleep.....it's more slowing down and forcing the thoughts to move slow until sleep occurs....but it's not the best in some people with no bipolar manic history....it can cause some problems....alter thoughts....maybe i'm just trying to say it's good for inducing sleep with thought disorders.....and keep it in use, it is vary good med for some people.....
