Beenzodiazapines are known to sometimes cause paradoxical reactions and can also cause disinhibition. You know how stupid people can get on alcohol? Well, alcohol hits the same receptors benzos do. You're friend is drunk on benzos.
He should be taking antidepressants for his depression.
