In reply to Assistance, please, with possible TD, posted by Beckett on June 22, 2014, at 15:21:58
I dunno...anticonvulsants can cause td, but I think its rare, at least compared to the neuroleptics (old and new).
Maybe antioxidants? I know, hippy health food store stuff, right? There's not a whole lot of conventional treatments for TD, so antioxidants are often a good idea. I do Orthomolecular to prevent TD.
If I recall correctly, a cocktail used in an open study from the late 60s into the early 80s used a couple grams each of c and niacinamide (b3), plus a b-complex and about 800 IU E. They reported an extremely low rate of TD, and some of the patients were on long term treatment with more than one old school antipsychotic, plus whatever else they threw in the mix.
Just a thought. Good luck!
