Not sure where to ask this question. I Googled around a bit and didn't find any info on these two drugs used together.
I'm taking Linzess because I've had ibs constipation for pretty much my whole life. I only go poopies every 4 to 10 days (it seems to be stress related). Started linzess med a year ago or so. Linzess is a drug (december 2012) that basically gives me pee-butt like no other laxative can. But hey, i'm not constipated. Being constipated seems to have some intrinsic depression. Did I mention I suffer from depression and hypomania cycling.
I'm currently off the anti depressants because I dont tolerate them (and i've been on a lot) well and I want to see how I do without them for a little while. Like anyone tolerates them well anyway. I'll probably end up back on them soon. bah..
Anyway. I recently started taking Trileptal (currently only up to 300mg a day) and I have already been taking Linzess (145 to 290 MCG's 2 days or every 3 days). So I am only taking Trileptal and Linzess, no other drugs at the moment. I notice now that I started the Trileptal, I'm feeling rather odd. It could be completely unrelated... the oddness I'm feeling could be Linzess natural side effects, could be stress, or something else. I started taking the trileptal to fill in the void of me stopping taking ativan and klonopin.
These are the side effects i'm getting now that I've added trileptal: Linzess doesnt seem to clean me out as well as it used to. I have uncomfortable pains in my stomach and back. I feel very bloated in my stomach area. I cant lie on my stomach after drinking water because it hurts. My stomach feels tight. I have like a burning sensation in upper stomach area (maybe gastro reflux?). I feel like I have bad intestinal gas 24x7 but i'm not passing it. I dont feel like my stomach is processing food through my intestines properly. almost feels like it shut down. Like i'm scared to not take a linzess because the poop wont come out :(
What I'm saying here is anecdotal so I'm just wondering if anyone out there can see a possible contraindication based on how these drugs work?
