I would recon that Zyprexa has at least a mild AD effect alone and produces antidepressant synergy when combined with another AD -- at least for me. As Zyprexa antagonizes many serotonin receptors I would say the combination is somewhat similar to the Remeron + SSRI/SNRI combo

^This site may be helpful in differentiating these types of meds. It seems that Zyprexa may as well have the ability to prevent recurrences of depressive episodes.

Many tricyclics are sleep-inducing as well as have AD properties.
