Tegretol great - depression

Posted by Sheilac on March 11, 2014, at 14:35:00

Tegretol instead of Trileptal is working great, thank goodness. Can you believe that?!

My doc suggested a few options to treat the underlying depression: Wellbutrin (which I'm afraid to take due to past manic inducement), Geodon or low dose Lamictal.

I'm too afraid of Wellbutrin. Geodon has been fine in the past, but I still always worry about the atrial fib issues associated with it.

Lamictal is awesome, but was never a good mood stabilizer for me. Great AD though.

For now, I'm happy with the Tegretol. Now I just have to decide which med to take to treat low grade depression. I'm leaning toward trying Lamictal. I'm thinking Lamictal might be safer than Geodon?
