Saw my MD today. He switched out antibiotics and replaced them with other ones. He was happy with the improvement. Me too. More work to do obviously.
A new one for me is Minocycline. He said he was not convinced that the other mechanisms of mino were responsible for its antidepression potential, that the killing of infection causing the depression results in the best outcomes regardless of its other mechanisms. Anyway, one of my 3 ABX is Minocycline.
He said he gets a lot of patients with depression, anxiety, and sleep issues. He said for the most part all that stuff resolves on its own with the right antibiotics. My own personal journey would confirm that for sure.
Typically they use psych drugs for short term relief or stability, but longterm requires healing of disease. The MDs I have seen, typically get a ton of people better with antibiotics, but not that many with just antidepressants.
I already knew that. This tough journey taught me that first hand. Most people probably do not know that. Many probably would not believe it. I guess back in my prozac/zyprexa days, I probably wouldn't have believed it either.
Once in a while I get hit with a bad depression day. I have mentioned this before in other posts....Cholestyramine. That drink powder will absorb the crap causing the bad emotions and is usually remarkably improved within a 4 to 24 hour period.
