I'm currently trying to enroll into a DBS study. I'm fed up with Zoloft covering 50% of my symptoms and causing anhedonia and apathy. I don't enjoy like anything, I have no sex drive and even though it reduces my suicidal thoughts, I have no desire to really continue living.
I've heard the nucleus accumbens and the sub cingulate gyrus are the best spots atm for treatment resistant depression.
It seems that for the patients that it works for it usually induces a decrease of 50-70% of symptoms which is great. However, responders seem to be 50/50. But I think that's STILL good for it being VERY BAD CASES.
Only part I hate is that the physical implants are like two ovals below my clavicle that will stick out. But I keep thinking, whatever. I'm literally going to die if I continue down this path anyways.
All I do every week of my life is go out with friends, don't enjoy anything, get drunk, talk to girls even though I really have no desire for it and repeat. Basically getting drunk is the only thing I enjoy. I'm not an alcoholic though, I just drink on fridays/saturdays, throughout the week I just wait for new meds to kick in or work out or something. fuckkkkkkkkk
