Some people use 25 - 100 mg at bedtime to promote sleep. By comparison, people generally need 400 - 800 mg to treat schizoid disorders.

Seroquel is NOT approved by the FDA for use as a sleep-aid (hypnotic). However, more people being treated with Seroquel for affective or schizoid disorders choose to discontinue treatment because of somnolence (sleepiness) than for any other reason. Many people take advantage of this side effect and use Seroquel for insomnia and anxiety. It has been my observation that people tend to feel sleepier at lower dosages than at higher dosages.
