Did abruptly discontinuing ADs make you manic?

Posted by doxogenic boy on October 28, 2013, at 11:47:20

Hey everyone.
In this thread I would like to hear from those of you who have experienced that abrupt discontinuation of antidepressants has caused hypomania or mania.

In 1995, When I used paroxetine 60 mg monotherapy successfully for depression and OCD for six months, and stopped abruptly with the paroxetine, I became manic within two days and was committed to a mental hospital for more than two months.

In 1998, I stopped abruptly with citalopram and nefazodone, then I became hypomanic and was committed to a mental hospital for three weeks. And in 2001 I stopped abruptly with nortriptyline, and became hypomanic, but not hospitalized.

Have you had hypomania or mania with causes like this, with or without hospitalization?
