> would it be a good treatment? would it be worth it? or would it be horrific?In my experience, a treatment with a short-lived antidepressant effect (which ECT mostly is), is not worth the loss of any memory. I have lost the best part of myself because of the ECT, and I will not ever be able to function in a job, because my working memory is destroyed, and my learning ability is destroyed too.
I have to take a lot of meds the rest of my life to avoid the despair that ECT side effects has caused.
