In reply to Difference between brand and generic Zyprexa?, posted by Bob12 on September 20, 2013, at 10:55:01
ask the poster Zyprexa and myself.
Yes....however, with that said. i am sensitive to generics. Especially revolt against the TEVA mfg. i've been on several generics from them and None work for me, AND make me sick.yes they have the same active ingredients, however the binders and fillers they use are different and can react differnetly to each other, as well as to your body.
With zyprexa i still know that i react the quickest and most successful with the brand. however, when it went gneeric i went on teva and i ended up a bit psychotic on it...finally went to Aurobindo? mfg. and that works. it didnt seem to kick in quite as quickly as the original, and Not quite the same potency, so you may need to use more than typical.
Also remember that Everyone reacts differnetly to meds. so it may be that Teva is the one for you.
Personally for me money is an issue. so i have to do generic when i'm on it. So i would say just jump in with both feet and give it a try. IF however, it doent work within three to four days, id say try a different generic-if you are able to-not too bad off (call around to other pharmacies).
If that doesn't work, then id talk to your doc. about a different med.
Best Wishes.
zyprexa's always been my go-to med. a
Dang those metabolic SE!!
